Itchy and pruritic dog itch or pruritis show scratching, licking paws, ear and anal sac infection due to food allergy / adverse food reaction needs a food trial with Royal Canin® dog food and may lead to diagnosis of atopic dermatitis due to pollen and/or house dust mite. Allergies cause secondary pyoderma and/or Malassezia dermatitis and require shampoo, quercetin in Hill’s diet®, Apoquel®, Cytopoint® and/or Cortevance®.
